ArtEvol 2025: Voices from the Undefined investigates artistic practice as something always in flux, emerging from tensions between technology and the body, the self and the other, and the real and the fictional. The exhibition title, EVOL, suggests reversal and renewal, highlighting how art continually reshapes its possibilities in moments of uncertainty and change. Drawing on concepts from cybernetics — including feedback, adaptation, and open systems — the works reflect artists’ responses to their environments and the times they live in.
The participating artists work across disciplines, identities, and media, speaking from undefined positions that resist validation within traditional frameworks of recognition. Their practices explore ideas of transformation, resilience, and social engagement, drawing attention to voices often overlooked — from conflict zones, marginalised communities, and regions beyond the conventional art world.
Curated by Nelson Qin and presented by LAC, the exhibition creates a dialogical space where emerging practices can be genuinely heard and equally seen — not as exceptions but as possibilities for the future itself. Visitors can expect installations, moving-image works, performance, and hybrid forms that challenge conventional understandings of artistic production.
Following the wide attention garnered by ArtEvol 2025: Voices from the Undefined at Saatchi Gallery, London Art Collective (LAC) is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of the exhibition catalogue. The exhibition, which highlighted diverse voices and perspectives from across the globe, brought significant recognition to participating artists and marked an important moment for emerging contemporary practices.
The catalogue brings together the works of all shortlisted and finalist artists from ArtEvol 2025, across a variety of media. As both a comprehensive record of the exhibition and a celebration of the creative voices that shaped it, the publication provides a valuable resource for artists, curators, and audiences. It reflects LAC’s ongoing mission to amplify emerging talent and to foster dialogue around art’s role in shaping contemporary culture.
The volume not only documents the exhibition but also extends its life beyond the gallery walls, offering new audiences the chance to engage with the creativity and ideas presented in ArtEvol 2025. For participating artists, the catalogue offers a sustained platform through which their work can continue to reach wider audiences. For readers, it shows the ideas and backgrounds behind the works and helps them better understand the different practices on display.
